The 200 year-old West Usk Lighthouse stands between Cardiff and Newport at the end of a bumpy track, and enjoys spectacular views across the meeting of the Severn and Usk estuaries in the Bristol Channel. The comfortable homely accommodation is in fascinating wedge-shaped rooms accessed from the central spiral staircase, with the original lantern room high above. The guest-house has several quirky attractions, including a Tardis on the roof, and a Dalek and a wishing well at the foot of the stairs.
